The Chemex allows you to brew larger batches instead of just one cup, making the Chemex better for sharing or just for having more than one cup. Which leads us to washing. You can dispose of each paper filter easily. After that, the V60, which is considerably smaller, gets a quick rinse. The Chemex on the other hand takes a bit more effort due to the hourglass shape and need to remove the wood collar. Cleaning gives the V60 the edge here.
On preheating, different V60 brewing methods will interact with the heat of the brew in different ways. It is possible to have a brewer pull so much heat out of the brew that you dip too low and end up with a poor extraction. In short, just preheat your brewer with near-boiling water.
After the first pour, I pick the V60 just off the carafe and give it a little spin, knocking grounds off the side of the brewer. This also helps make sure that all the grounds and water are evenly saturated. I find doing this early on leads to a sweeter and better-tasting coffee (due to more even extraction throughout the brew).
After that, I clean up the refractometer and measure the beverage TDS, but I make sure to taste it before looking at the TDS measurement, otherwise I found that it can affect my taste perception. Also notice how I mix the brew with a spoon before sampling it; this is better at mixing up all coffee layers than just spinning the brew.
Great Video! I am just wondering what setting you would use on BG for this method, if you have aligned it and re-zeroed it on 1m. And one more question, the spin would minimize the channeling of water, but is there any possible that the water would pass by through the V60 wall (more like channeling)?
Add your grounds to the filter and gently shake the dripper so they settle into a flat surface. Pour just enough of your 200-degree water over the grounds to fully wet them. Let it sit for 45 seconds so it can bloom. This means the gas will be purged from the coffee to give a purer flavor.

The 2018 Volvo V60 is a five-seat luxury wagon available in multiple trims. The T5 Dynamic is the base model, and it comes with leather seats, a turbocharged engine, and either front- or all-wheel drive. Now, let's get to the luggage. As always I'll start with the cargo cover in place, and also as always I use two midsize roller suitcases that would need to be checked in at the airport (26 inches long, 16 wide, 11 deep), two roll-aboard suitcases that just barely fit in the overhead (24L x 15W x 10D), and one smaller roll-aboard that fits easily (23L x 15W x 10D). The ribs allow air to pass through and for the hot water to flow downwards. More ribs make the water flow faster, which results in a lighter taste. Fewer ribs slow the water flow, resulting in a denser, heavier coffee.Thus, the Hario V60 Kasuya Model has a special section at the bottom of the dripper about 1cm tall with no inner ribs to slow the flow.Tetsu spent a year experimenting with different shapes, variations in rib patterns, and placement. Eventually, he chose the one that tasted best with his coarse grind beans, thanks to it providing just the right speed of hot water drainage.
The V60's full-HD+ resolution (2460x1080) also translates to fewer, less densely packed pixels than in quad-HD devices, like the Galaxy S20 line. If the V60's screen were an inch smaller, this wouldn't really bother me, as the density would be acceptable for the size. But once you approach 7-inch territory, you're spreading those pixels out a bit thin, resulting in graphics, text and games that just don't look as precise as when viewed on competing flagships.
For starters, apps just aren't built for it. Chrome will run in two separate instances on each screen, but won't share a pool of tabs. Naver's Whale browser, which comes preinstalled on the V60, is built to run across both screens, but even then the experience is still clunky, as the tab overview in the main browser window doesn't take account of whatever's open on the other screen.
LG's digital gamepad is here again, too, just like it was on the G8X, and is equally as frustrating. Depending on which screen you launch a title in, you could end up with the game running on the phone's display, forcing you to hold the wafer-thin second panel as a controller. One time, Asphalt 9 even launched oriented away from the other screen, which would've been more irritating if it wasn't so funny in the moment.
For recharging, the V60 comes with a FastCharge 4.0 charger in the box, which LG claims gets you 18 hours of use (or 50% capacity) from 30 minutes of charge. As an Android phone, the V60 tells you how long until a full charge when you plug it in. When we plugged the standard charger into the V60 when it was down to 16%, the phone noted it would take just over an hour and a half to charge back to full.
Will I bit the bullet , my new FWF50E has a fresh v6.0 installed ;) The upgrade from v5.6.3 went off with zero issues. It did take a few longer minutes for the WebGUI to be present. I will upgrade a FWF60D next and see what a D model does.

Of course, the V60 is not alone in being a conical brewer with 60 degree-ish sloped walls.
